Use of Pumping Concrete in Construction projects

Concrete Pumping used in various construction applications, such as high-rise buildings.

With Concrete Pumping we can pump large quantities of concrete as fast as a truck mixer to produce concrete.

Pumping is one of the activities that we commonly find in everyday life around us. It's like pumping up tires, be it bicycle, motorcycle or car tires. Some of these are light pumping jobs, which most people know.

But this pumping activity does not only apply to pumping vehicles. There are pumping activities in the construction work area. Pumping in the construction field is the most common technique used to transport fresh concrete on construction sites.

A wide variety of concrete pumping construction techniques have been developed globally. Pumping allows horizontal and vertical transport of concrete at the same time, which is labor-saving and cost-effective. (Jiang et al. 2017; Zhao 1985)

Why Pumping Concrete?

Pumping Concrete is a new technology applied in Indonesia recently that has a fairly modern and complex concrete performance. The use of concrete in large-scale projects around the world will involve pumping. A wide variety of additives and admixtures are incorporated into modern concrete for a continuous construction process. The rather complex performance of modern concrete and its pumping will differ significantly from conventional concrete. (Journal International perspective of concrete pumping for infrastructure projects and the way forward in developing countries)

Increasingly high business competition forces humans to continue to develop technology. Especially in the field of construction manufacturing where this has been shown by some data that, every year there will be an increase in development both in Indonesia and the world.

Significant progress has been made on the pumping behavior of conventional vibrating concrete (CVC) over the past few decades, especially in the area of pumping pressure prediction. Factors affecting pumping capability and rheological properties (the state of the fluid but also as a "soft solids" or solids under conditions where they respond with plastic flow rather than elastically deforming in response to an applied force), and the frictional performance of the lubrication layer (Kaplan 2001; Secrieru2018).

Knowing & Using Concrete Pumping in Construction Projects

Concrete structures can be cast directly at the building site or prefabricated in a factory. The cast-on-site technique is preferred for large monolithic structures including foundations, beams, columns, slabs, retaining walls, tunnels, and bridges. (Liu et al., 2020).

In construction project expectations, of course, there are many differences in the structure or framework of the building to be made. Some can be cast directly on site or can also be done in advance at the factory. Construction projects such as monolithic structure large including foundations, beams, columns, slabs, retaining walls, tunnels, and bridges (Liu et al., 2020) more favorable.

But in this case, if you choose the molding process in the factory is also good. The cast process at the construction site or area provides better and more promising results, as it tends to have higher flexibility and adaptability.
